A year ago, I started this blog. When I looked back at those initial entries not too long ago, I realized that they sounded stilted--the tone was just off. I'm still finding my way, but I wanted to say "thanks!" to all those who have read and commented on this blog over the last year.
And as a token of my thanks, I will be giving away this:

This started as an Italian food blog and still has that bent, so it seems only right to give away a gorgeous bottle of extra-virgin olive oil from Williams-Sonoma. On a separate note, thank goodness I do not live anywhere near a Williams-Sonoma, because I would be in there every week.
To enter, please sign up to follow this blog with Google Friend Connect if you don't already, and leave a comment letting me know that you have. If you're already following me, you can let me know that too.
Since my blog lives in a cave and doesn't have a Twitter feed or Facebook page, if you can't sign up to follow let me know what Italian recipe you'd like to see me tackle next.
I will select a comment at random this Sunday at 6 p.m. Alaska Standard Time, and this gorgeous bottle of oil will be shipped to you!
Thank you again for a great year. Back tomorrow with a recipe for Alaskan king crab dip perfect for your summer parties.
Congrats on your anniversary! I followed you on Google connect :) AND I made those brownies, expect with cherry jam, and hazelnuts, and hazelnut flour (so they probably were quite different)but they were AWESOME! I only have 1 left and I'm trying to make it last :)
ReplyDeleteJane, I'm so glad you tried the brownies--I bet they were the bomb with cherries!
DeleteHappy Anniversary to you and your lovely blog!! It's been wonderful getting to know you. :) I have enjoyed hearing about your dishes and life in Alaska!! Here's wishing you many more years in the blogging world. Well done my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your anniversary! How do I follow you on Google connect??
ReplyDeleteIt's the little area that says "followers" on the side of the blog, and you just click "Join This Site."
DeleteHappy Blogiversary and wishing you many many more blogging years :)Love your recipes and your stories :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You have a lovely blog and I love this bottle of olive oil. I buy it all the time from my favorite "Williams Sonoma" store.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Anniversary! Blogging is a wonderful adventure, isn't it? I am one of your followers, and have been enjoying your recipes. I love everything Williams Sonoma but the really dangerous place is their outlet--there is one about 75 miles from where I live, so I don't visit often, but I get nice bargains when I do! :)
ReplyDeleteA W-S outlet? I didn't know there was such a thing! That would be dangerous.
DeleteThis is a great gift. Happy blogiversary! Mine will be coming in two days.
ReplyDeleteHappy 1st Anniversary! I am amazed everyday with the people I meet virtually, and the creativity and passion for food. Blogging is a journey and it evolves along with you.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good thing that Willams Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel are no where near me....I am not sure I could contain myself.
I am already a follower :-) When you get your facebook page and your twitter feed, I will be there too.
Cheers.
Velva
Thanks, Velva! Sometime soon the blog will have to move into the more advanced digital age, but I'm not quite there yet.
DeleteCongratulations and happy 1st Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy blog-o-versary! I started "officially" following your site with Google Friends although you know I followed you anyway! :) You are correct. Having a W-S within driving distance can be addictive!
ReplyDeleteHappy Bloggyversary!!!! I agree, I won't want to live near a Williams-Sonoma either! I'd probably need a separate bank account just for them and it'll forever be empty! Looking forward to many more years!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and happy anniversary! I don't really use GFC but glad I could join as my Google account. :-) Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO! Congratulations and wish you a very Happy Anniversary! :)
ReplyDeleteJust like you, looking back at all my earlier postings when I started, goodness the language and the pics are were really out in some of it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats and looking forward to more recipes and sharing on your blog.
Congrats on a terrific first year. It's so exciting for me to have a blogging friend all the way over in Alaska. I love the look of this olive oil but I can't subscribe via google because I'm on wordpress and there seems to be an issue with it. I can tell you what Italian recipe I'd like you to cook next and that would be an Italian dessert - anything other than tiramisu will do. xx
ReplyDeleteAnd it's exciting for me to have a blogging friend in Australia. Hmm. Italian desserts--there are lots of great ones featuring fruit. I'll come up with something!
DeleteI signed up! I love olive oil and I also enjoy reading your posts. :)
ReplyDeleteOh! Happy Happy Anniversary :)
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so happy that we get to connect, my friend! I wish you many, many more happy anniversaries!!!

ReplyDeleteHappy 1st Anniversary! In no time you will be celebrating 5 like I just did. And I still have a lot to learn...part of the fun. Following you on Google now.
ReplyDeleteFive years with your blog? Now that's an achievement!
DeleteHappy first Anniversary!! Like to read ur blog...

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeletep.s Olive Herb is a cold hardy, perennial, woody, and the bright green leaves that have an intense olive aroma. It adds an interesting, alternative flavour to salads and is a tasty addition to Mediterranean meals, especially when you don’t have any fresh olives to hand.
Angie, thanks for the information on olive herb. I'll keep an eye out for it the next time I travel to Mediterranean specialty stores outside Alaska.
DeleteMiss you from Nebraska! Love reading the food!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! I've been a follower since near the beginning...always a joy to stop by and see what you've cooked up.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for all the comment love!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary - I've been following you from the get-go. Love your writing. Love your offerings. Everytime you post something from Lidia's Italy, you send me back to the kitchen!
